I really don't want to call this page FAQ,
but there are some questions that I get asked frequently,
so here are the answers!

What is a Little You?
It's a small clay person, made to order from your photographs.

What are they made of?
Non toxic polymer clay, glass eyes & wired into a solid sycamore wood base.

Do you paint them?
No, I can't paint! Or draw for that matter.
They are made from different clay colours that are blended to match the details on your photographs.
All details are made from clay, by hand - no molds are used, they're not blancmange!

Why do I need one?
Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, retirement, engagement, on top of your wedding cake, just because.
Everyone needs a small clay person. They make good listeners.

How much are they?
That depends on what you would like making and the time that it takes me to make it.
I aim to make my prices fair to my customers and myself, I also put a lot of effort, time and pride into my work.
Figures start from £60, anyone found saying "but they're only little" will be fed to the geese.

A more personalised quotation can had by getting in touch and discussing your ideas.

How tall are they?
Usually around 10 -14cm, it all depends how tall the subject is.

Can you make ......... or -------- ?
Yes, very likely I can. As they are handmade, we're only limited by imagination.
I'd rather not make camels though - they scare me slightly.

How long do they take to make?
It totally depends what I'm making, how complicated it is and how many cups of tea I have.
On average, a single figure will take 12 hours from start to finish, but who is average really?

Can you have it ready for next week?
Unlikely, but you never know until you ask!
I take bookings up to 2 years in advance, and am especially busy around May - August &
October - December, so booking ahead is usually essential.
I do sometimes have spaces available at short notice, so it is worth checking and I will always try to juggle my work schedule around if I possibly can.

Next day?
I have on occasion been asked for a next day order. I will happily work through the night, however my list of additional fees for this lack of sleep and caffeine dependence is long, pricey and includes hourly biscuits.

I don't have all the details yet though.
This is often the case with bookings for wedding cake toppers,
outfits and details may not have been chosen before you need order.
If this is the case, order in advance to reserve your space and I can then amend any final balance accordingly once details are decided and approved.

Is this really your job?
Yes it is and I love it! Sixteen full time years of making little clay people.
Every day and customer and Little You is different and that is a joy.

Would you like a brew?
Yes please, milk no sugar, have you brought biscuits? :0)

I've still got a question
Get in touch then and ask away!
I am real, I don't bite and I have answers to most things relating to small clay people!
